Large Pair of Pine Yakisugi Style Table Lamps, France, 1970s

A pair of solid pine table lamps in a classical amphora shape. The  wood has been treated using a Japanese  method which is variously known as yakisugi, meaning burnt cedar, also called shou sugi ban, a term used erroneously outside Japan. Some faded burn marks are visible. The lamps were sourced in France and appear to be from the 1970s.
